2000 years of wellness on the Limmat

The Romans already appreciated the healing powers of thermal water. Later, great thinkers and poets such as Goethe, Nietzsche and Dürrenmatt were drawn to Baden – all united in their enthusiasm for the 47-degree springs. To this day, water bubbles up from 18 natural springs, making the city on the Limmat a place of relaxation and inspiration.

Grand Casino Baden

Perhaps your luck lies in Baden? In the stylish ambience of the Grand Casino Baden, you will experience more than just thrills at the gaming table. Whether roulette, blackjack or poker – excitement meets elegance here. But even away from the gaming tables, the casino has a lot to offer: a varied programme of events for companies and private occasions makes every visit a special experience.

Ruins of Stein Baden

Probably the most impressive view of Baden: from the Stein ruins, there is a sweeping panorama of the old town and the surrounding vineyards – on clear days, you can even see as far as the Alps or the Black Forest. Where today the remains of walls remind us of times gone by, there once stood a magnificent castle where the Counts of Habsburg resided. The Schlossberg rises about 80 metres above the town and is easily accessible via stairs or well-signposted paths such as the Niklausstiege.

Culture & Concerts

Baden thrives on a special spirit. The Baden spirit permeates the city with creativity, diversity and passion: at lovingly curated festivals, on traditional stages, in lively museums and innovative cultural venues. Once you've experienced it, you'll want to come back.
